International Creative Ageing: Go & See Bursaries for Arts, Health & Wellbeing Practitioners

WAHWN is pleased to be able to offer 4 bursaries to Wales-based artists working across Arts, Health & Wellbeing in the field of Creative Ageing, or to older artists to initiate or develop collaborative relationships with artists or arts organisations in our partner countries: Finland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and England. Funded by Wales Arts International Opportunities Fund, this opportunity comes as an outcome from our 5 Nations event: Reaching out to be Global, which was held in November 2024.
Who this is for:
- Individual participatory artists working in the field of creative ageing, who have experience of delivering in health and wellbeing settings/projects who want to visit another artist or an arts organisation/project in one of our partner countries.
- Older artists (who are over 50), who want to develop a creative relationship with another artist or arts organisation in one of our partner countries.
We welcome applications in Welsh and English. All applicants must be based in Wales.
How Much?
Up to £800 per application – please only apply for the costs you need covered.
What does it cover?
- Travel costs
- Accommodation costs
- Subsistence costs
- Attendance tickets
- Training costs to support your practice
- Translation costs
- Personal access costs
- Any other relevant costs to enable your visit/collaboration
What is involved in accepting a Go & See grant?
- Successful applicants will be notified within 1 week of the closing date.
- You will need to spend the grant by 30 September 2025.
- Payments will be made within two weeks of submission of invoices.
- You will need to complete a short feedback form describing the grant activity and how it has benefitted your work, including photographic documentation if relevant. Responses from all grant recipients will be collated to create a report for our funder, Wales Arts International.
- You will need to share your learning with us and the funder in an appropriate way. This could be a short blog or report (max 500 words), a vlog (max 5 mins) or a creative response (photos + text) about your visit.
- Any unspent grants will need to be paid back within 14 days.
